The AcademicPad is a learning management and assessment tool. It is designed to help students wed formal learning, life and work learning into an online life long portfolio. But it is more than that. It is designed to use social networking concepts to enable advisors and students to keep in touch. It is designed to help orchestrate the process of articulating learning by the student, assessment by a formal organization such as a university and the recognition of learning through the award of credentials such as a course, certificate or degree.
